Yes we honk….you know why???

Recently I saw a news program in which they were showing we Indian honk a lot while driving.

But I was disappointed that they didn’t research the “Why” part? I did and these are the findings:

  1. People walk on the road, as footpath is for sleeping.
  2. Apart from people even cow, dog, sheep and pigs walk on the road.
  3. There is no speed limit. You can drive at any speed from 0 to 150 kmph at your own risk.
  4. No lane system. An auto wala while waiting at signal can suddenly change his mind to take a left turn even though he is on extreme right side of the road.
  5. People can’t stand inside the bus stop which is always full with something (people to cow dung). They wait on road.
  6. At a 5 ft long bus stop, with out shoulder, located just after signal, some 5 buses need to stop, over take each other etc etc. The driver can do anything he wants.
  7. Private vans and buses can stop anywhere anytime to overload their vehicle.

I don’t want to complain more but all I want to say is there are reasons, why we honk.

One Response to “Yes we honk….you know why???”

  1. few other reasons
1.we are at a constant fear of how we’ll drive if the horn is not working, so we keep testing them
2.the pedestrians need that stimulus to move
    3. we need something to look forward to when we go abroad :)
